Introduction

Madhya Pradesh is the second largest state in India and is often called the ‘Heart of India’ due to its central location. The state is rich in its culture, tradition and history and the origins of the state can be traced back to 500,000 years back. There are various avenues to explore in Madhya Pradesh for every type of traveller, be it for art, history lovers or adventure seekers.

We begin our 5 nights 6 days Gwalior Orchha Khajuraho and Panna tour from the city of Gwalior. Our first leg of the tour begins from Orchha, which is a village lying on the banks of Betwa River of Madhya Pradesh and is almost 400 km from Delhi. This ancient village served as the capital of Bundelkhand between the 16th and 18th century. Although distinctly Rajput in style, the architecture was also heavily influenced by the Mughals. We then head off to Panna, which is famous for its diamond mines in India and also visit its famous tiger reserve through an early morning “Jeep Safari”. There are large varieties of animals which can be found in the national park are Indian Tiger, Sambar Deer, Spotted Deer, Wild Boar, Stag, Antelopes and much more.

Khajuraho is known for its ancient temples and their finest art in the world. These temples come under UNESCO World Heritage Sites because of its exceptional architectural skill and stunning displays of fine sculptures.

Almost all of these temples were built during the time of Chandela dynasty. These temples are classified into 3 groups: Western Group of Temples, Eastern Group of Temples, and Southern Group of Temples.
